QUEER AREA at the FOKUS 2024

It glitters and sparkles in the "Queer Area"! You can expect a brilliant stage program on this year's "Queer Stage" with musicians and artists from Görlitz and Upper Lusatia to Berlin and Argentina. The "Queer Stage" will mainly feature FLINTA* people - that means women, lesbians, inter*, non-binary, trans* and A-gender people. Musically, it will also be very colorful and you will hear hip hop, rap, pop and reggaeton. You can find out more about the terms "FLINTA*" or "Queer" at our stands and ask questions. There will also be a beat boxing workshop, a counseling service as well as lots of information and hands-on activities and a cinema in the "Queer Area". The "Queer Area" is organized and hosted by the feminist*forum, CamilloKino and the Queer Network of the district of Görlitz.

Lama Kolana, the performance group of the German-Polish CYRKUS Görlitz/Zgorzelec, consists of young people aged between 14 and 17. Full of speed, dedication and an open mind, they present acrobatics, juggling, clowning, unicycling and aerial acrobatics in a thrilling show. They place particular emphasis on open-mindedness, artistic self-realization and artistic skill.

💜 Kolektiw Klanki (16:55)

Klanki - four female rappers who grew up in the Upper Lusatian province combine dreamy Berlin hedonism with criticism of the Catholic patriarchy in Upper Sorbian. Let the ritkas bounce!

💜 ALICE DEE (19:25)
queer-feminist rap - Berlin

Powerful and raw: ALICE DEE fires rap lines at 140 BPM. ALICE performance is pure energy, whether freestyle, grime, drill or trap. With empowering vibes and strong content - political or personal - ALICE uses lyrical and technical skills to be heard and share vulnerabilities. The result: crew anthems and honest political statements.

💜 CHOCOLATE REMIX (21:55)
lesbian, queer feminist reggaeton - Argentina

Colorful, queer, provocative. With her lesbian reggaeton, Chocolate Remix turns the old-fashioned content of reggaeton on its head, beating it with humor and her own weapons. Sexy but never sexist, Chocolate Remix and her crew transform every festival, every club into a seething, hot party. Power and empowerment.

💜 Ebow (00:15)
queer-feminist rap - Berlin

Pointed lyrics about the realities of life for queer people and people with migrant biographies meet high-end productions ranging from trap, R&B, street rap and everything in between, following Ebow's clear vision of modern hip-hop.

Hi, my name is Annskar Fekete, born in the last gasps of the GDR, grew up in the deepest East of the noughties.First feminist socialization with Xtina, theoretical underpinning with the study of social work a few years later. I have been working in the field of sexual education & counselling for more than a decade. The content meets at the intersection of sex education, pop culture & feminism and criticism of capitalism. In between, I have collected several certificates, e.g. a master's degree in applied sexology or further training in trauma and sex therapy. To ensure that none of this remains an insubstantial list, my work is based on a critical attitude towards domination and queer feminism.

The magical crew from Fokus Festival will be doing it on Saturday, 10.8. from 16:00 - 20:00, the magical crew from Fokus Festival will make it possible to ask taboo questions about gender, identity, sexuality, relationships and feminism - all in a trauma-sensitive and power-critical setting.Come on over baby!

Beatboxing is not a martial art, as you might think at first glance. It's the art of producing beats and sounds with your mouth. If you would like to get to know the first steps and get creative, I would like to welcome you to my workshop.
